Among the American companies that manufactured this style of furniture was the Heywood-Wakefield Co., based in Gardner, Massachusetts. Known widely today for their lines of blonde furniture, Heywood-Wakefield addressed the American family's desire for an informal yet sophisticated look through its Danish Modern and related lines produced in the 1950s and 1960s.
